Reference Standards

Reference Standards

Reference standards are the foundation of every quantitative analytical method — without a traceable, certified standard of known purity and concentration, there is no valid calibration, no defensible result, and no regulatory acceptance. Whether your laboratory runs environmental compliance monitoring under EPA or state methods, pharmaceutical impurity profiling under USP or ICH guidelines, clinical and forensic toxicology, cannabis potency and contaminant testing, or food safety and pesticide residue analysis, the accuracy of every reported value traces directly back to the quality of the reference material used to build the calibration curve. Certified reference standards must deliver documented traceability to NIST or equivalent primary reference materials, with Certificates of Analysis that satisfy both internal QC programs and external accreditation audits.

Ibis Scientific provides access to one of the broadest reference standard catalogs available to analytical laboratories across North America, sourced from leading manufacturers including Cerilliant™, Restek™, Cayman Chemical™, Spex CertiPrep™, High Purity Standards™, Inorganic Ventures™, and LGC Standards™.

Our offering spans organic reference standards, controlled substance and toxicology standards, elemental and inorganic standards for ICP-OES and ICP-MS, pesticide and herbicide mixes, environmental priority pollutant standards, pharmaceutical impurity standards, and custom multi-analyte blends. If you do not see the specific standard your method requires, contact our team — with access to thousands of catalog compounds across our supplier network, we can source specialty and low-volume standards that are difficult to find through general distributors. Volume pricing and standing order programs are available for high-frequency reference standard users.
